4 of the core ways to bring more targeted traffic to your site for free.
4 Ways In Which You Can Increase Website Traffic And Sales By Writing Articles
by Jack Humphrey http://power-linking-profits.com
By far the most effective way to
1) Brand your name, 2) Get free traffic, and 3) Sell more products,
…is writing and publishing articles in your niche. No matter what your website focuses on or what you sell, there is an article relating to it that visitors and potential customers would like to read.
1. Link Popularity
When you write and submit articles to major free content sites, like IdeaMarketers.com, your articles get picked up by the search engines pretty fast because Idea marketers and other big sites are spidered more frequently.
With your bio line and URL at the bottom of each article, your link popularity increases as people pick up and use your articles on their sites.
2. More Subscribers
Every webmaster on the net looking to sell anything or gain repeat visitors to their site, no matter WHAT your content or products, must collect email addresses of visitors to update them on new products or information on the site.
Once a visitor is gone, you must go through all the work and expense it took to get them there in the first place all over again to get them back to your site. Unless you capture their email address through an opt-in subscription form. Usually people will use a freebie to tease the email subscription out of visitors, offering them something of high perceived value in return for their permission to mail them again later.
3. More Sales
If you sell anything (either your own products or through affiliate programs) traffic is your number one concern for making more sales. Yet traffic is expensive to get if you don’t know how to use super-effective free techniques that deliver highly targeted potential customers.
Say you are a horse expert and you write an article on the best saddle blankets for horse and rider. It should be no surprise that you should be SELLING saddle blankets at your website. If your article is beneficial to horse owners, on whatever topic you choose to write about that day, and it gets circulated around some big lists and posted on some sites, chances are great that you could see tons of visitors through your bio line URL.
4. Where to submit your articles
My first and most favorite place to submit is IdeaMarketers.com. They get spidered fast and I have gotten several articles picked up by publishers there.
For mass submissions directly to publishers for consideration, I use and love Ezine Announcer. It is the best program I have found on the net for getting your articles out to as many big publishers as possible in the shortest period of time. You can find out more about this software here: http://wetrack.it/eza/af.cgi?945
Finally, make sure you keep an idea file and track your article ideas carefully and religiously. When you are in the car, at work, whatever, you are going to think of some great topics to write on. If you are not careful, you will forget more than you ever write!

Google doesn’t stop innovating their search engine, and there where others try to follow, Google is not just 1 step ahead, but 10 steps ahead. Their latest innovation, which actually may already be in place for a year or longer, can be found in the patent: “Information Retrieval Based on Historical Data.”
The abstract of the patent is: “A system identifies a document and obtains one or more types of history data associated with the document. The system may generate a score for the document based, at least in part, on the one or more types of history data”.
This article has the goal to give a implified representation of this patent + contains recommendations as to what would be the best SEO techniques to obtain high rankings, with a specific focus on links. This article is the opinion of the writer and following recommendation in this article is done at your own risk.
Google’s search results have been increasingly difficult to explain and many theories have been developed on what is going on. Most popular is the “sand box” theory, which says that a new site is put in a virtual sand box and has to wait until it has aged before obtaining high rankings. This patent has some excellent information that can explain this phenomenon.
Information Retrieval
The information that this invention of Google is claimed to retrieve based on the historical data are:
- Age/Time
- Change
- Trends
A score is calculated based on the above 3 factors which can then, at least partially, be used to rank the selected pages.
Historical Data
The patent describes a huge amount of historical data. The following is an overview of most items for which historical data can be measured:
- Pages/sites
- Links
- Anchor Texts
- Content
- Query
- Traffic
- Ranking
- User
- Domain
Ranking Based On Information Retrieved From Historical Data
The patent describes in quite a lot of detail how selected pages are ranked based on the information retrieved from historical data. This chapter will describe the basic logic applied.
Age/Time
Of all historical data a date of inception is used to determine 4 important values:
- Age
- Average Age
- Date
- Average Date
These factors can be determined for pages, links, anchor text, content, topics, queries, etc. Comparing the age or date of a page to the average of the site for example tells the search engine if this information is relatively new or old.
Comparing the average age or date of a page to the average age or date of all pages selected for a query (keyword phrase) tells the search engine if the page is relatively new or old. This information can be used to rank the selected pages.
Comparing to an average has the advantage that there is no preset base of rules that determine the rankings of a page. For one query 6 months may be considered new (product descriptions for example) while for another page 6 days may be considered old (news items for example). It all depends on the average age.
This same logic applies to links. In order to determine how popular a page or site is, the average age of all back links tells the search engine if the popularity of the page is recent or not. It makes sense that if most back links have been obtained 4 years ago and that hardly anybody has been interested to link to this page/site since then, that the page is not as popular as the existing back links would suggest.
The patent goes even as far as determining age factors for anchor texts of links.
Change
Information changes over time. Opinions change, knowledge changes, popularity changes, etc. Like mentioned before, a page that was popular 4 years ago, may be totally forgotten now, but still have most of its backlinks that were obtained when the page actually was popular. However, if this page all the sudden becomes popular again, and new back links start showing up, the average age of the backlinks will remain high. This will prevent the page of ranking high.
Detecting changes is crucial to give old information the chance to rank high again. Consequently, the lack of change can be a reason to lower the rank of a page.
Trends
Even though comparing to averages is a great way to get information about freshness, it fails to recognize smaller events like a sudden increase in popularity of a page. Though detecting changes do help to recognize smaller events, more information can be obtained by detecting trends.
Sudden increases of popularity can be caused by seasonal events like Christmas or the Super Bowl. For this reason the search engine will try to determine trends within pages links, anchor text, content, topics, queries, etc. Detecting trends makes it possible to rank pages higher that would not be ranked high with the standard ranking methods or with comparing to average ages or dates. Google has recognized here a very important fact of information: Relevance and importance of information is (con)temporary.
Detecting Spam Using Historical Data
Having all kinds of historical data available can be used to detect search engine spam. Unexpected events that happen to a site can be an indication of spam. Obviously a strong improvement of 1 single factor would not be a direct indication of spam, generally multiple factors are showing strange behavior when a site is using spam to increase rankings. It would not be in Google’s interest to penalize a site for advertising. However, excessive advertising in sites/pages that are totally unrelated will not do your site any good.
Recommendations
Nothing changed in regards to links. This patent pretty much confirms what we at www.textlinkbrokers.com already knew and have been explaining to our customers as well. The following recommendations can be helpful:
Keep links related
Related links matter, unrelated links can be considered spam.
Build links on a continuous moderate bases
As the patent describes, the average age of your backlinks should not be too high. It is therefore wise to continue adding backlinks to secure a reasonable average age of all your backlinks. How many you need to add over time depends on your market.
Be better than the average
Very important is to be better than the average, but don’t overdo it. It would be expensive and unnecessary.
Focus on seasonal events
A good way to increase the success of your website is to set up text link campaigns for seasonal events. Start your advertising campaign 2 to 3 months before the actual event to give Google the time to find the links and update your site’s information with it. After the event you can let these links go again.
Spread links over multiple sites (unique backlinks)
A very important factor is the number of unique websites in your backlinks. Google seems to put a strong emphasis on this factor.

Consumers have not been informed about a nation wide problem with some RCA, Sony, Hitachi and Phillips brand televisions. The problem, which has existed since 2001, is alleged to be caused by a non-standard broadcast signal.
Usually the first indication or symptom that your television is being affected by a non-standard signal is the television will experience a problem with the audio reception. It is common to suspect the problem is originating with the cable reception or the television set itself. The audio (sound) on a television either begins hissing, or just stops working.
At first, the problem was thought to just be affecting RCA brand televisions, but Sony’s Hitachi’s, and Philips are also being affected. According to an Electronics Industry Specific Newsletter, written by Joe Spoko of Ohio, RCA brand televisions are experiencing a hissing sound, or total loss of audio on some or all channels. Sony televisions are experiencing a dropout of video. Phillips brand televisions are experiencing a tint shift all the way to green.
The problems are affecting televisions built with chassis identified with the following identification numbers: CTC203, CTC197, and CTC195. These chassis all use the same micro processor (not the same part number, but the same capabilities).
So far, the best temporary solution, or work around, to the audio problem is to unplug the television for about twenty minutes or so, according to Gerald Doiron, owner of Doiron’s TV and VCR Service in Houma, Louisiana. It may be necessary to repeatedly unplug the television, and as often as is necessary to reset and restore the televisions audio capability. Unplugging the television is proving to be only a temporary fix.
When contacted, an RCA employee, who identified herself only as Debra, acknowledged the audio problems, and stated the problems appear to be caused by non-standard signal transmission. Debra stated the problem began to occur around the beginning of 2006. “RCA is working very hard to find a solution” Debra said, but she failed to mention that the audio problems have actually existed since 2001. Still today, the various problems alleged to be caused by the non-standard signal cannot be corrected.
If you have experienced any unexplained audio/sound problems with an RCA brand television, the contact number for the Thomson/RCA is 580-634-0151. Before you call Thomson/RCA about any audio problems, be sure to have the model, serial, and chassis number of the television set.

Sodium Vapour Lamp consists of a discharge tube made from a heat resistant glass, containing a small amount of metallic sodium, neon gas and two electrodes, Neon gas is added to start the discharge and to develop enough heat to vaporize the sodium. Because of law pressure inside the tube, a sufficiently long tube required to obtain more light. To reduce the overall dimension of the lamp, this tube is generally bent into U-shape.
The light produced by this lamp is yellowish which is produced at its optimum pressure of about 0.004mm of mercury. This pressure is obtained at a temperature of about 280 C and so it becomes necessary to maintain this temperature. For this purpose the U-tube is enclosed in a double walled flask to prevent lose of heat. The double walled flask is interchangeable and can be fitted on to another U-tube. While replacing the inner U-tube one must be very careful because if it is broken and sodium comes in contact with moisture, it may result in fire.
All electric discharge lamps require a higher voltage at the time of starting and low voltage during operation. Generally, sodium vapour lamps are operated by a high leakage reactance transformer. At starting a high voltage of about 450 volts is applied across the lamp which is sufficient to start the discharge. When the lamp is fully operative after 10 - 15 minutes, the voltage across it falls to about 150 volts. Because of the high reactance of circuit, the power factor is low and hence a p.f improvement capacitor is connected.
The efficiency of a low pressure sodium vapour lamp is very high (about 40 - 50 lumens/watt) and it produces a light of particular wavelength having yellow color. Sodium lamps are mainly employed for street, high way and airfield lighting where color distinction is not so necessary.

Purse knockoffs are made the same way as luxury designer purses, but the main difference between them is the material used. While designer purses use high-quality leather from Italy and other places, purse knockoffs user a lower quality leather or ‘pleather’ - faux leather, a material that feels like leather but does not hold up as well as real leather. Also, they are not sewn together as well as designer luxury purses. Whereas designer purses may use a nice heavy duty waxed thread to sew the pieces together, purse knockoffs will use a lesser grade thread that could fray or break after some use.
Are purse knockoffs just not worth the money? No. They are just as a good and as nice as regular designer purses.
They just cost less and are not made with the same high quality type of material.
This means they just will not last as long as a designer handbag may last.
You may get ten or fifteen years of daily use out of a designer handbag where you may only get five
or six years of daily use our of
purse knockoffs
When you stop and think about it, purse knockoffs are just as good as luxury designer handbags.
Most women do not use the same purse everyday for the life of the purse.
They tend to change off purses on a regular basis depending on the season or outfit they are wearing.
In this case, purse knockoffs
are the perfect solution for looking sexy and fashionable when stepping out,
leaving you with plenty of money to spend on your shoes and dress instead.

Believe it or not, browsing the web with Internet Explorer or Netscape is relatively new. It wasn’t that long ago (ten to fifteen years) when the tools you would use on the internet (not the web) were email, gopher (a menu based browser), archie (a file and directory locator) and FTP.
The letters FTP stand for File Transfer Protocol, and that’s exactly what FTP allows you to do - transfer files from place to place. In fact, FTP is by far the most efficient (the fastest) way to copy large files across the internet.
Today many people use a sophisticated FTP client to get files to and from their web sites. This has several advantages over the method commonly used by amateurs on free web sites. Many newbies who don’t know any better use the gadgets provided by their free host to edit their sites. The problems with this are many and varied.
First, the gadgets are not very impressive as editors. Most users who want to create a web site of any size and complexity will find themselves constrained horribly by these tools. Probably the only good thing about these editing tools is they give people a nice, easy way to start creating web sites without a huge learning curve. But take my word for it, you will outgrow them soon enough.
In addition, a major problem is the editing is generally done directly on the host site. This means you do not have a back up of your site on your own hard drive. If your host decides to close your account, goes bankrupt or just plain is unavailable, you lose your site. If you ever want to have a frustrating experience, just try and call your host and ask them to restore your site from one of their backups!
Other people use products such as Dreamweaver or FrontPage, which include site updating capabilities. These are often very convenient until they don’t work or perform unexpected actions. For example, I spent several days trying to figure out why my CGI routines were not working, until I realized that FrontPage was uploading the files incorrectly. From that moment forward, I used an FTP package to upload my files.
Most of the modern FTP clients are very simple to use. You just launch the program, enter some basic information (such as the site address, account name and password) and connect. Once connected, you can usually just drag and drop files from your own hard drive to the site.
Precisely why is it a good idea to use an FTP client over, say, FrontPage (or Dreamweaver) or direct editing on a hosts web site?
FTP is fast and efficient - As it turns out, FTP is actually one of the most efficient ways to transfer large amounts of data on the entire internet. Don’t believe me? Try transferring a very large file, say a megabyte, using FTP. It really moves, doesn’t it?
By using FTP, you have an automatic backup - If you use FTP you will be editing your files locally on your own computer. As you make changes you will copy the files up to your host’s computer. This means no matter what happens to your host, even if their computer is totally destroyed, you’ve got a copy of your site on your own disk. The reverse is also true - if your computer is trashed you can recover your site from your host’s system.
FTP gives you control - You can choose whether to transfer in binary (executables and compressed files) or ASCII (text files) as needed. This is an advantage over FrontPage, which does not give you the choice. This means you cannot use FrontPage to upload your site if you use, for example, CGI routines.
Some good FTP projects include the following.
AceFTP - http://www.visicommedia.com/aceftp/
This FTP client has the ability to do multiple tasks at the same time. This means you can start a long copy, look at the site and copy some smaller files all at the same time.
AutoFTPPro - http://www.primasoft.com/32org/32ftpro.htm
Has the ability to schedule transfers for selected times. The template feature allows you to create a pattern which can make future transfers much easier.
CuteFTP - http://www.internet-tips.net/Products/cuteftp.html
This is the product that I like to use. It is very easy to use, with a simple interface that allows drag and drop.
KnoWare, Inc - http://www.knowareinc.com/
Several different FTP clients. FtpNetdrive maps an FTP site as a drive letter, which integrates it directly into your desktop. Internet Neighborhood adds the FTP site directly to your network neighborhood. These are both very nice products.
WebDrive - http://www.riverfrontsoftware.com/
WebDrive is a Windows 95/98/NT FTP software client that allows you to map an Internet FTP site to a local drive utilizing the standard FTP protocol. This enables you to connect to an FTP site and perform familiar file operations like copy, xcopy, and directory functions with the Windows explorer, a DOS box, or any other application like Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. WebDrive instantly FTP enables any application that reads or writes files by allowing the application to read files from or write files to the FTP site.
WS_FTPPro - http://www.ipswitch.com/Products/WS_FTP/index.html
Another very nice FTP client with scheduling, speed and integration into the browser. This allows you to enter ftp:// in the address bar of the browser to call up the program.

Be hopeful today to check out if you have a great deal or if you don’t with the bank that offers you a bank loan. That’s why now you really need to check up on and go steady if you can have a money loan at a honorable percent loan rate. Now you can check out rates of interest quickly online and realize if there are other possible traps you should be aware of.
A lot of the banks wil show you a rate that is looking upright but feels badly or so after a period of time. A merchant bank in Jackson Mississippi or so may have a total completely different actual interest rate for a 30000 dollar money loan then a moneylender in Nampa Idaho and that makes a immense clear difference in your weekly costs. Investigate to see if the bank who is tending to give you a loan is estimable. 9.1 percent rate of interest may come out so just but will it stay uniform after you have to pay for your credit loan. It makes no difference if you live in Cary Illinois or in Camarillo California a honest online analysis will redeem you often lots of inconvenience.

The Problem Software integration aims to solve a problem that started when large companies automated processes that had previously been manual; such as finance or human resources. This in itself was a very successful idea, and sent costs tumbling. However, finance developed an application to fit their needs; HR developed another (incompatible) application, and so on… Unfortunately, this resulted in inconsistent data. For example, if the finance and HR applications both required an employee database, it was replicated into each application. With no central source, who was to say which database was the correct one? This not only led to an enormous duplication of effort, but to a large consistency problem.
The previous solutions There were many approaches to solving this problem and they can be broadly divided into three categories: user interface integration; data integration and business process integration.
User interface integration was the cheapest to implement and required the least change to working practices. The technique was to take all the applications and shoe-horn them into one user interface. Unfortunately this was no more than a cosmetic overhaul and did nothing to address the fundamental problem.
Data integration came in several flavours, most significantly the data-warehousing push of the 80s and 90s. The idea was to do a one-off analysis of all of the information used by a business, design a centralised database and re-implement the applications around it. Unfortunately very few corporations managed to get past the design phase. Lack of decent change management tools and over-ambitious, short-sighted IT directors can take most of the blame for this.
The current solution The solution of the day is business process integration. Unlike data integration where the idea was to centralise the data and rebuild the applications on top; business process integration aims to integrate on top of the applications.
A critical realisation in bringing this about was the existing applications contained important ‘business logic’ - information about the processes that ran the business. Rather than ditching this altogether why not build a layer on top and in-between that will facilitate integration? This has given birth to a whole new class of software, which has been dubbed ‘middleware’.
For Example Supply Chain Integration is a particular type of business process integration that can reap huge benefits (as well as posing big technical and managerial challenges). The basic idea is to remove some of the unknown variables in your business planning and forecasting; by getting as much information as possible from your supply chain in both directions.
By accessing your suppliers’ stock levels, lead times, order status and other information as if it were your own, you can better manage warehouse inventories or production schedules; and therefore provide a more reliable service to your customers. Being able to make, track and settle orders online will further increase your responsiveness to your marketplace.
Allowing your customers access to similar information and services from your organisation will bring more realistic and timely orders, that your customers know already you will be able to fulfil. Integrating your customers will also enable a much more intelligent analysis of your product line: spot an under-performing product before it impacts your bottom line; increase marketing budget for a product that has the potential to go through the roof or implement an on-demand (or as near as possible) production process to minimise your exposure through stock levels.
This is not a task to be undertaken lightly, as the technical issues involved with integrating the different systems that have been implemented by the companies in your supply chain are less than trivial. On the other hand, trying to persuade the same companies to switch from their existing systems to a common platform is likely to be next to impossible. This is where good middleware will come to your rescue.
Why is all this relevant to SME’s? The SME sector is quickly becoming more reliant on technology, and the problem of integration has started to filter down to them. Many SME’s are using a few incompatible applications to automate their processes; and have no idea how much integration could benefit them.
So what should I do? If you have only just started, or still have relatively little reliance on your IT systems, a data warehouse style approach may be most applicable. This can work well from a clean slate, although there are some caveats: Bear in mind that to gain cost-efficiency, you must remain locked in to one software vendor, or your integration costs will far outweigh the potential gains. This carries with it a certain amount of risk in case the vendor withdraws support or even goes bust.
For most SME’s a middle-of-the-road approach is preferable: continue using standard off-the-shelf software such as Microsoft Excel, Access, ACT, Sage etc to store and process information; but use customised middleware on top. This will not only save effort and ensure consistency; it can also be used for reporting, or can incorporate newer, more demanding applications such as predictive software.

Customer Reports 500% Productivity Increase with Solution from
DialResults and Alliance Systems DialResults provides predictive
dialing software solutions to telemarketing companies. One such
company, Lymcore, is an outbound service bureau for credit card
companies. Lymcore agents contact potential customers and offer
additional credit options. New Technology from DialResults is
an open, highly-dependable, standards-based solution that is
easily upgraded. To run this VoIP Windows-based predictive
dialer for the Lymcore implementation, DialResults selected an
open communication platform from Alliance Systems. “We chose
Alliance Systems’ I-Series server because of its reputation in
the marketplace,” said Richard Logan, office manager at
DialResults. “Our installers tell us that there is no comparison
between Alliance servers and other leading vendors. Plus, our
systems worked so well together in the first implementation, we
would never select any other company.” Lymcore moved from manual
dialing to a predictive dialing system for the same reasons most
telemarketing companies make the change: increased productivity
and efficiency. The DialResults/Alliance Systems solution
increased Lymcore’s productivity by more than 500 percent.
Before the implementation, Lymcore agent’s made approximately
100 sales a week. Today, they generate between 100 and 120 sales
daily. Due to the call agents’ impressive productivity, Lymcore
asked DialResults to assist them in nearly doubling the
predictive dialing solution to 150 workstations. Designed as a
standards-based, highly scalable and flexible system, Alliance
Systems’ open communications platform easily accommodates
Lymcore’s growth. “Alliance’s communication servers are readily
scalable and capable of expanding and growing with Lymcore,”
Logan concluded.
