Fathers day is probably the most forgotten, missed and generally unloved occasion on the traditional celebration calendar. This year in the UK, fathers day falls on Sunday the 21st June 2009, so now you know you’ve got no excuse for forgetting.

If your a useless gift buyer, like me, you’ll be wanting some quick and easy gift ideas to thank dad for all his hard work throughout the year. Trawling the giftshops on the highstreet or online can be tiring with hundreds of similar gifts and items availablem so how can your gift stand out from the crowd?

• If the weekend of the 21st is a scorcher, how about taking your old man out for a nice pub lunch, there is nothing better than a lovely pub lunch in a sunny and warm beer garden.
• How about a family BBQ, you cna invite all your family round and have a good old knees up, great for people on a budget and often a guaranteed good time!
